Have seen this on a preliminary brochure and it makes sense:
The switch-fabric, the main CPU ist the heart or a switch. A weak cpu
means a weak switching capability and an acceptable speed only.
The power supplies are the legs of a switch. Weak or too small legs
mean one power supply will die or fail and later on the other too. Many carrier class switches have 3 or more "legs".
The ports are the eyes of a switch. Many eys mean, there must be a
good and strong heart and good legs.
